Grow tomatoes not Tomato Plants! with Charlie Costello in the Hexagon

Please join us at Merryspring Nature Center tomorrow, Tuesday, August 13th at noon in the Hexagon for a talk by Charle Costello on “Grow tomatoes, not tomato plants!”

Charlie will discuss how to start and grow tomatoes of all types. He starts the plants from seed and grows heirloom tomatoes like the Pink Berkeley Tie Dye, Green Zebra, Juane Flame and Captain Lucky.

He is a founding member of the Maine Heirloom Seed Working Group that will focus on education and events surrounding heirloom vegetable varieties in Maine.

Charlie will also discuss the upcoming first annual Tomato Tasting party at Merryspring which will be held on Saturday, September 14th. There might be some tomatoes to taste tomorrow!
