Rescheduled to 2025 Maine’s Terrestrial Invasive Plant Do-Not-Sell List” – Why the Listed Plants Do Not Fit Into Maine’s Ecological Puzzle with Gary Fish, ME Dept of Agriculture, Conservation, Forestry

October 1 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Gary’s talk will be rescheduled to 2025.

Gary Fish will lead an outdoor presentation on Maine’s Terrestrial Invasive Plant Do-Not-Sell List at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, October 1 at 12:00 pm.

Maine State Horticulturist, Gary Fish, shines a light on the 63 plants banned from sale or import in the State. He will provide the basis for why these plants don’t fit into Maine’s ecology. He will also provide examples of native alternative plants and what you can do if you already have some of these plants in your landscape.

This in-person talk is part of the Summer Talk Series co-sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank and Camden Riverhouse Hotel. Attendance is free for members; $5 for non-members.

Merryspring is your community nature center offering walking trails, cultivated gardens, wildlife, and ecology and horticulture educational programs all year round. The park is located at the end of Conway Road, just off of Route 1 in Camden behind Hannaford Shopping Plaza.
