Maine State Horticulturist, Gary Fish will lead a Zoom presentation on Maine’s Terrestrial Invasive Plant Do-Not-Sell List at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, January 28th at 12:00 pm via Zoom.
He will cover the 30 new plants that are no longer allowed for sale or import in Maine and explain why those plants were added. He will also speak about Rosa rugosa (beech rose) and how it was placed in a new special category requiring signage at the point of sale. He will cover how invasive plants exacerbate climate change and diminish wildlife habitat values.
Please join us via zoom for our weekly Tuesday Talks. Each Tuesday features a talk on ecology, horticulture and conservation presented by experts in their field. Tuesday talks are via zoom from January through mid-May – tune in from anywhere on any device!
