Tuesday Talks in the Hexagon – Bee Keeping with Dick Vermeulen

May 27 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Dick Vermeulen, a member of the Knox-Lincoln County Beekeepers (KLCB) and Maine State Beekeepers (MSBA), will be talking about the fascinating hobby of keeping honey bees alive and productive in Maine.  His presentation will include beekeeping start up equipment, the cast of characters in the hive, worker bee tasks as they age, bees as pollinators, challenges to keeping bees in Maine and what we can all do to help keep these important insects thriving.

Please join us each Tuesday at noon for an in-person talk in the Hexagon on ecology, horticulture or conservation.  Check back as we add presenters to the schedule.

In-person Tuesday Talks are free for members and $10 for non-members (cash and check). Thanks to our sponsors Reny’s a Maine Adventure and Riverhouse Hotel & Inns.
