Tuesday Talks in the Hexagon – Electricity Use by AI and Big Data:  Some perspective with Paul Stancioff, Emeritus Professor of Physics University of Maine at Farmington

August 26 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

There has been much talk of late about the huge energy requirements of AI, crypto, and data centers. We will look at how these requirements compare to other energy needs and how they relate more generally to the energy transition that the world is currently undergoing.

Please join us each Tuesday at noon for an in-person talk in the Hexagon on ecology, horticulture or conservation.

In-person Tuesday Talks are free for members and $10 for non-members (cash and check). Thanks to our sponsors Reny’s a Maine Adventure and Riverhouse Hotel & Inns.

Merryspring is your community nature center offering walking trails, cultivated gardens, wildlife, and ecology and horticulture educational programs all year round. The park is located at the end of Conway Road, just off of Route 1 in Camden behind Hannaford Shopping Plaza.
